10.00"x14.00" Watercolor, unframed

Description of Three Trees

I painted this watercolor on site in Tennessee’s Cumberland Plateau on an early spring day, with some of the year’s first pale leaves starting to unfurl. Most of my work is inspired by an undefinable emotional connection to particular places, and as if to prove this, it turns out that I’d sketched these trees with markers 16 months previous, forgot it, and then returned to stand in almost the same spot.
